Meet Our Students

comes from a very hard working family, which is apparent in her work ethic at

school. As a third grade, second year Victor’s Vision student, Greysi loves to read and write. She is one of the sweetest girls you will ever meet and loves to color and play. When she grows up, Greysi says she wants to go to college to study to be a nurse!

is bold, energetic and a very quick learner. Though her teachers imagine she’ll singer

or actress one day, Yahaira says she is going to be a really good elementary school teacher instead! Much like her younger sister, Daniela, Yahaira loves spending her free time doing her work and writing. She loves hanging out with her friends at Victor’s Vision and you can almost always find her with a big smile on her face.

Noelia Estefany

is a fourth grader who lives with her mom and three brothers and sisters. Before she

was born, Noelia’s father abandoned the family, so Noelia has never seen or heard from her dad. Unfortunately, Noelia’s mother is also sick with AIDS, so the family is constantly struggling to get by. Despite such hardship, Noelia is one of the most compassionate and loving girls in her class and is always ready to jump on you with a big hug. Her favorite color is red, she loves to read and sing and when she grows up she wants to be a teacher!

Segundo Olisar

is a sixth grader at the Escuela Monteverde. He lives with his mom, who sells mangos in

the market for a living, dad, who drives moto-taxis, and three siblings. As he works through his second year with Victor’s Vision, Olisar has truly become a leader among his Victor’s Vision and regular school day peers. He now consistently receives the highest grades in his classes, and shows a confidence in his work that his teachers had not seen previously. Olisar loves playing with his friends and family, and when he grows up he plans to attend university so he can be a policeman!

Carlos Joel

Carlos Joel

is determined to be the first in his family to go to college! Though both of his parents out

in the 6th grade, Joel wants to be a doctor when he grows up and knows he’s going to need to stay in school in order to do that! When he’s not studying math and science, Joel likes to draw or watch TV with his family. His favorite color is red and his favorite animal is the dog.
